is produced from a sterile preparation of urine of post-menopausal women. The hMG is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
hMG, also known as menotropin, is a combination of FSH and LH in a 1:1 ratio that is extracted from urine obtained from postmenopausal women. Urine of postmenopausal women reflects the hypergonadotropic state of menopause where levels of FSH and LH are high.
